Chapter Board

The Board of the S-Chapter is made up of eleven members (or representatives) whom hold many various responsibilites within the chapter. The Board is mainly in charge of the economic and legal chapter issues as well as the study social operations which concern all chapter members. It is lead by the president and vice president of the Board and handles important work throughout their one year mandate.

The electoral process

All members of the S-Chapter are welcome to apply for candidacy to the Board. Candidates for the President of the Chapter Board and the Vice President of the Chapter Board are presented during SM3 (first chapter meeting of the fall semester). After which there is an offical election where all chapter members can vote for the candidates online. During SM4 (the last chapter meeting of the fall semester) the results are presented to the members and the President and Vice President are sworn in. Candidates for the other members and representatives of the Board are however all presented as well as elected during SM4. The Presedent is the one who leads the Board’s work. In addition to bearing the ultimate responsibility for many matters, the Presedent is also a public face of the section. Through representation in the flag procession, meetings in the Presedent Council (OR) at the student union THS, and acting as a contact person for, among others, the alumni network Don-orden, the Presedent gains a broad perspective on student life both within and outside the section.

The Vice President works closely with the President. Among other things, they are expected to step in for the Presedent when the Presedent is unavailable. The Vice Presedent is also the chapter’s second flag bearer.

The Treasurer is ultimately responsible for the chapter’s finances and ensures that bookkeeping is carried out continuously throughout the year. The Treasurer maintains close contact with the finance officers in the section’s sub-organizations, among other things through BAR (the Council of Bookkeeping Officers). Together with the rest of the Board, the Treasurer is responsible for preparing a budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year and for closing the accounts for the current fiscal year.

The Equality Representative (Jämno) is the leader of the Equality Group and has been part of the board since 2018. Jämno works, among other things, against discrimination based on gender, age, ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, disability, or religion.

Together with the Facilities Manager, Jämno serves as a Student Safety Representative (SSO) and is bound by confidentiality.

The Business Relations Manager is responsible for managing and developing the chapter’s contact with companies and the professional field. This includes organizing events such as company presentations, lunch lectures, career fairs, and collaborations that create value for the chapter’s members. The goal is to build strong partnerships that offer students insights into the job market, networking opportunities, and potential career paths.

The SMU (Board Member for Educational Affairs) is the board’s representative in the Study Council and, together with the Council Chair (NO) and the Student Representatives (OS), is responsible for educational monitoring within the chapter.

In addition to representing the chapter in the Student Union’s Education Council, the SMU works with the Study Council to ensure that the chapter is represented in all relevant bodies and councils, such as the Undergraduate Education Council at the ABE School, the Program Council for the S program, and the Strategic Council.

Qlubbmästare

The Qlubbmästare (Club Master) is primarily responsible for the chapter’s party and social event operations. Together with the Vice Qlubbmästare, Qhrösus, and Seqret, the Qlubbmästare leads the work of QBM, the chapters party committee, and ensures that there are enough events for the chapters members.

The Qlubbmästare is therefore well-versed in the rules governing this type of activity, including alcohol laws as well as KTH’s own event and facility regulations.

The role of the Event Manager involves organizing events for and with the students of the chapter. These events can range from game nights in oaSen to dinners (gasques) and career fairs.

As the Facilities Manager, they are responsible for everything related to the chapter’s premises, oaSen. The work mainly involves ensuring that oaSen is a pleasant and welcoming space in good condition, where students can eat lunch, study, and host events. For more information about events in oaSen.

The main task of the PR-manager is to continuously update all of the chapter’s channels with information for all chapter members to access. These channels include, among others, Facebook, Instagram, the screens in the chapter’s premises (oaSen), and the website.

The secretary’s duties involve taking minutes at all board and chapter meetings, as well as ensuring that the documents are published on Canvas in a timely manner. In addition to this, the secretary has extra responsibility for the chapter’s governing documents and the board’s to-do-list (uppföljningslista).
